Oracle has announced that the Oracle cloud is being increasingly used by organizations as well as developers. This announcement was made at Oracle Code, the company’s premier developer event, in New York on March 21, 2017. The new list of clients includes global enterprises, Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs), and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).

Oracle Cloud is an integrated public cloud platform that offers about 1,000 Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications and 50 Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) services. It can support data, workloads and developers on new and existing cloud environments, including hybrid cloud environments. It is used across 195 countries and supports about 55 billion transactions every day.

The Oracle Cloud helps organizations innovate while simplifying IT, reducing costs, and delivering improved customer experiences. The platform uses modern DevOps processes to provide various APIs, microservices, containers, mobile back ends, machine learning, and chatbots. Big data and analytics are pre-integrated into the platform. It also provides additional pre-integrated capabilities for management, monitoring, integration, mobility, and Internet of Things (IoT). All this helps to build applications which can be easily connected to other cloud or on-premises environments. The cloud platform also provides differentiated database performance at different scales, and has deeply integrated IaaS capabilities which can be used for easily developing, testing and deploying applications in the cloud.
